Talumpati Para sa Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa

Kaya naman, sa aking pagsisiyasat sa ating panahon, napagninilaynilayan ko na mahal talaga ni PNoy ang wikang Filipino dahil ang wikang Filipino parin ang kanyang ginamit sa kanyang SONA. Tinanong nga ang kanyang tagapagsalita kung bakit daw ito ang kanyang ginamit. Sabi niya, para daw maintindihan ng nakararami ang mga programa ng administrasyon at upang ipakita ng pangulo ang pagmamahal sa ating sariling wika.

Hindi naman sa pagkontra sa dating administrasyon, pero gusto ko lang ikumpara ang SONA ni PGMA kay PNoy. Bagamat nakakabilib para sa iba ang pakinggan ang talumpati ni PGMA na lahat ay ginamitan ng wikang Ingles, sigurado naman ako na hindi ito naintindihan ng nakararaming Pilipino na nakikining sa kanyang SONA.

 Pero sa SONA ni PNoy, mas naiintindihan ito ng bawat Pilipino sapagkat ito ang ating wika at bihasa tayo nito. Mas nakakaingganyong pakinggan dahil atin itong naiintindihan. Hindi naman sa pagkundina sa paggamit ng wikang Ingles, kaya lang, ito naman talaga ang dapat na gawin ng mga president sa kanilang SONA upang ang kanilang mga programa at mga mensaheng gustong ipaabot sa sambayanan ay maintindihan ng karamihan at nang hindi sila umani ng iba’t ibang batikos mula sa taumbayan dahil hindi nila naiintindihan ang mga programa ng gobyerno.

Isa lamang iyan sa mga halimbawa na nagpapakita ng pagmamahal sa sariling wika kahit sa maliit na paraan. Hindi man pansinin ng karamihan ngunit siguradong kahit isang Pilipino’y pinansin iyon—at isa na doon ay ako.

Ang wikang Filipino rin ay ang ilaw natin tungo sa matuwid na landas—ang landas ng pagbabago dahil kung wala ang ating wikang Filipino ay hindi tayo magkakaisa tungo sa daang matuwid. Hindi tayo nagkakaintindihan sa mga nais nating ipaabot sa bawat isa. Ika nga ni PNoy, “Tayo na sa Daang Matuwid,” kaya upang maisakatuparan ang hangaring ito ni PNoy ay kinakailangan ang pagkakaisa ng bawat Pilipino sa pagsugpo ng mga hindi kanais nais na mga gawain ng ibang politiko.

Paano ngaba magkakaisa ang bawat Pilipino? Ito’y sa pamamagitan ng pag gamit ng wikang Filipino at nang tayong lahat ay magkakaintindihan sa ninanais nating gawin—ang pagbabago.

Hindi lamang ilaw ang ating wika kundi ito rin ang lakas nating mga Pilipino tungo sa matuwid na landas dahil sa pamamagitan nito tayo’y magkakaisa. Kung mahal natin ang ating wika ay atin itong ginagawang inspirasyon at ito ang nagsisilbng lakas natin pagdating sa mga dayuhan. Hindi dapat tayo magpadala sa colonial mentality na “Mas maganda ang Galing sa Ibang Bansa” dahil mas maganda ang orihinal na wika natin—ang wikang Filipino.

Talaga naman kasing kahit sa panahon ngayon ay sakop parin tayo ng mga dayuhan. Hindi nga lang sa literal na pag-intindi kundi sakop tayo dahil an gating isipan ay mas prayuridad parin natin ang mga bagay na mula sa ibang bansa dahil akala natin ay kapag nagkaroon tayo ng mga ito’y, mas nakakanagat na tayo sa iba dahil nga sa paniniwalang mas maganda ang mula sa ibang bansa—“Mula sa labas ‘to” ika nga.
